CAOGA Privacy Statement

CAOGA, Cumann Ấrachais Oifeagach an Gnáth Airm, is a Friendly Society set up under the Friendly Societies Acts 1896-1977. It is run by the CAOGA Management Committee on behalf of its members. Its offices are located in McKee Barracks.

CAOGA provides life insurance to serving and retired officers of the Defence Forces and their spouses, Civil Partners and cohabitants. It has charitable status and is run independently from the Defence Forces. CAOGA also provides other financial and welfare services, including a Benevolent Fund for serving officers.

Personal data provided by you to CAOGA will be used exclusively for the purposes of obtaining life assurance on your behalf and will not be released to or made available to anyone other than our service provider Irish Life.

You as a member of CAOGA have a right to access your personal information and all computerised data retained by us on your behalf. Arrangements to view your personal data can be made by contacting the office by email at info@caoga.net or by telephone at 01-8042785 / 01-8042786. An appointment will be made for you to visit the office. Copies of the relevant data will be provided to you on request. You have a right to rectify or amend any data which is incorrect. Such rectification will be complied with within thirty (30) working days.

CAOGA has a policy of reviewing all members’ data on an ongoing basis. Where any doubt exists as to the accuracy of information held, you will be contacted immediately and records amended as required.

CAOGA takes its security responsibilities very seriously, employing the most appropriate physical and technical measures, including staff training and awareness and we review these measures regularly. CAOGA collects email addresses from members on a voluntary basis. Our website www.caoga.net  uses Google Analytics tracking in order to provide meaningful reports about site visitors. However, Google Analytics does not collect personal data about website visitors.

As with all bodies, CAOGA is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our legal Officer advices on this.
