Mission Statement

CAOGA’s primary role is to provide its members with the means “to protect the long term financial security of the member’s family in the event of the death of a key member of the family”.

To achieve this goal the society has put in place Group Assurance schemes together with other financial and welfare services and the success of these services and schemes are largely due to the personal efforts of the various committee members who have been part of the CAOGA set up at various stages over the decades.

The strength of CAOGA today is testimony to the success of those endeavours.

Who We Are

CAOGA, Cumann Ấrachais Oifeagach an Gnáth Airm, is a Friendly Society set up under the Friendly Societies Acts 1896-1977. It is run by the CAOGA Management Committee on behalf of its members. Its offices are located in McKee Barracks.

CAOGA provides life assurance to serving and retired officers of the Defence Forces and their spouses, civil partners and cohabitants. It has charitable status and is run independently from the Defence Forces. CAOGA also provides other financial and welfare services, including a Benevolent Fund for serving officers.

The purpose of the website is to inform our members and potential members of the benefits and the services provided to Commissioned Officers of the Defence Forces and their families by CAOGA.
